Unified Communications Summit 2009

RADVISION's largest Unified Communications event presented the innovations, technology and applications associated with IP communications for voice, video and data collaboration. RADVISION's VoIP Developers Solutions division presented the latest in VoIP developer solutions and hands-on existing demonstrations of video and audio over IP applications/products.

The developer community attended various sessions on the Unified Communications world as well as on video and audio technologies with topics ranging from 'leveraging unified communications on IMS networks' to 'the secrets of Scalable Video Coding (SVC)'.

A Look Into the Unified Communication World

The presentation looks into the Unified Communications (UC) world. Reviews the latest trends in the UC market and discusses UC capabilities in various segments and networks such as Enterprise, SMB, Consumer, Mobile and Web 2.0 and the interaction between them.

Leveraging Unified Communications on IMS networks

Today, Unified Communication is the term of choice. While solutions for UC are abundant today, there will be a need to glue them all together. IMS offers the glue with its standardized architecture that fits native IP communications. IMS offers ways in which IMS enhances the UC experience, which will be explored in this presentation.

UC: From Client To Infrastructure (or UC Down to Earth)

When asking what is UC you will probably get more than one answer. This presentation tries to show what is UC from the practical perspective, by case studies, demos and implementation principles reviewing UC deployment in different verticals.

HD video clients on a platter

HD video telephony requires a lot of work from terminal vendors. This presentation outlines the challenges developers face when building a High Definition video endpoint for both embedded and desktop platforms and provides a brief about the technology behind the BEEHD interactive video engine.

The Secrets of Scalable Video Coding

Video communication promises new ways of interaction between people, but for this service to get to the masses, it is required to adopt ways of dealing with network impairments. The H.264/SVC codec provide these means. This presentation, explains the concepts behind SVC.

Improving Video Quality in Your Network

Video communications is growing in use. Its adoption by larger and larger audiences will require IT managers and service providers to validate their networks for video communication. This presentation will explain the various problems affecting video quality and the ways in which video quality analysis can assist fleshing out these problems from networks.

Beyond Unified Communications: The Continuum of Communication Types

This seminar focused on Unified Communications -  a strengthening trend in enterprise communications. There is another trend, which has been affecting consumers and is now making its way towards the enterprise - Social Media. These two trends are about to collide. This presentation will try to find the similarities of the two and view at the future beyond UC.
