XCAP
Last update: Apr 08, 2010XCAP stands for XML Configuration Access Protocol and it is defined by IETF in RFC4825. The purpose of XCAP is to allow manipulation of user-specific data via common HTTP mechanisms. One of important applications for XCAP is management of Presence and IM information in the SIP communication network, where it is implemented via XDM.
XCAP is defines the following:
- Elements and attributes of an XML document defined as an HTTP resource, i.e., accessible via an HTTP URI
- HTTP GET, PUT and DELETE methods are used for document manipulations operations
- A default authorization policy for accessing and manipulating documents
