WNSRP (Windowed NSRP) is a call setup reduction technique used in 3G-324M.

WNSRP speeds up the handling of H.245 messages in 3G-324M by using a windowing mechanism that can send several different messages concurrently. It ensures thatall messages are received and that they appear in the correct order.

WNSRPworks in a way that is similar to NSRP. It adds a response window that enablesan overlap of the round trips required by H.245 messages, thus reducing callsetup time.

WNSRP has been promoted by RADVISION and approved by the ITU and the 3GPP. Today, many cellular operators mandate the use of WNSRP in the handsets being launched to the market.

A complementary call setup time reduction technique is H.324/M Annex K.
