Group Of Pictures (GOP)

In video coding, a Group of Pictures (or GOP), is the way frames are gathered in to a structure inside the video stream.

The GOP defines a set of successive frames in a pre-defined order, consisting of different frame types (such as Intra and Inter-frames). Each coded video stream consists of successive GOPs.
