An ATA is a device which connects on one side to an analog phone and on the other side connects to the internet using VoIP.

In most cases, ATAs are considered IADs if they can terminate more than a single phone line.

RADVISION's Multimedia Terminal Framework is especially suited for use in EMTAs, providing termination of SIP sessions.
